Baptism records of Annie and Winifred show that Benjamin Snr was a bootmaker and the census for 1901 records that he was 38 years old and a Boot Top Cutter, born in St George, Glos. Gt Granddaughter Penelope says that he Lived in a house called Sandringham, and owned a bike shop on Winterbourne High Street.
Also from the 1901 Census... Mary Elizabeth was 38, born in St George, Glos. Mary E (Jnr) was 18, a dress maker working at home, born in St George, Glos. Kate E was 15, born in St George, Glos. Benjamin Jnr was 14, born in St George, Glos. Winnie was 9, born in Winterbourne, Glos. Annie was 5, born in Winterbourne, Glos. Cane, nee Smith. And they all were living at No 27, The Street, Winterbourne.
