Frenchay National School gardening lesson given by the headmaster, Mr Sharp.

Ernest Albert Sharp, seen here supervising the older boys at the gardening lesson in the school garden, was headmaster of the school from 1923 to 1927.

The young girl on the path is Mr Sharp's daughter, Sylvia, who now lives in Southampton and still keeps in touch with the Frenchay Museum.

She was delighted when this photograph was sent to her in February 2008, and told us that she does not remember this picture being taken.

The photograph came to us in a collection of postcards and documents kindly loaned by Mr Horseman of Frenchay.

Presumably Mr Horseman is one of the boys, but we do not yet know.

Does anybody recognise any of the boys?
