Francis Fox Tuckett

Francis Fox Tuckett was a Quaker. He lived in Frenchay village and was one of the great pioneering Alpinists, and one of the early members of the Alpine Club. He was known as "That Mighty Mountaineer". There are several artefacts on display from Frank's mountaineering days. He was a great innovator and experimentalist.

    

Frank explored the Alps and the Dolomites. There is a refuge hut named after him in the Dolomites.
